Legal analytics for busy lawyers.
Lexmachina Analytics supports law firms, chambers and in-house legal teams with structured research, comparative overviews and visual frameworks. We turn complex material into insight you can actually use in advice, drafting and strategy.
About Lexmachina Analytics
Lexmachina Analytics is a small, independent initiative specialising in legal information design. We do not replace lawyering – we give lawyers better ways to see, explain and work with complex material.
Legal background
We understand how lawyers actually work: deadlines, bundles, partners, clients, courts. Our outputs are made to slot into real-life drafting, meetings and case preparation.
Design for clarity
We use diagrams, schemas and layered notes to reduce cognitive overload. The aim is not “pretty slides”, but shared understanding inside your team and with your clients.
Quiet & confidential
We usually work in the background, under your name, and respect the confidentiality standards of legal practice. NDAs and conflict checks are standard.
What we do
Lexmachina can assist on individual matters, internal projects or recurring research tasks.
Comparative legal research
We help when matters cross borders, levels or bodies of law:
- side-by-side comparisons of jurisdictions or regimes,
- mapping of case law lines and their divergences,
- tracking how standards evolve over time.
Knowledge maps & frameworks
We turn unstructured material into:
- decision-trees and argument maps,
- matrices of issues, actors and risks,
- clear visual overviews for internal notes or client decks.
Internal tools & training aids
For firms and legal teams we design:
- checklists and quick-reference guides,
- templates for recurring types of analysis,
- simple scenario exercises around complex procedures.
How we work with you
The goal is to support your practice without adding noise. We keep the process lean and collaborative.
1. Brief & boundaries
Short call to clarify scope, timelines, sensitivities and the decision or product you need: a memo, a visual, a client-ready note, an internal “thinking piece”.
2. Work in iterations
We share early sketches – structures, diagrams, draft overviews – so you can steer content and tone. This avoids surprises and keeps the work aligned with your style.
3. Hand-over & follow-up
You receive clean outputs (and underlying logic, if requested), ready to integrate into your own documents, submissions or firm knowledge systems.
